Questions To Ask

When considering home care options, please contact several companies and use this as a tool to find one that best suits your needs. Many times, families ask only a few initial questions of the company and later discover the service is not what they expected.

  • What do I need help with? (getting dressed, taking medications properly, doctor appointments, etc.)
  • How often do I need someone to help me? (eg., 3 times/week, 4 hours)
  • How can I pay for these services? (insurance, trust, reverse mortgage, out-of-pocket)
  • What is the potential home care company's hiring process? (minimum healthcare experience, skills assessment testing, reference checks, drug screening, criminal background checks, etc.)
  • Who supervises the caregivers? What is their background? Is it clinical?
  • Will I have the same caregiver? What happens if the caregiver is unavailable to come?
  • What happens if I am not happy with my caregiver?
  • Does the owner of the company have a healthcare background? How long have they been in business?
  • Once services are agreed upon, how long will it take before a caregiver comes to my home?
  • What do the services cost?
  • Was the company's representative helpful? Did they answer your questions clearly?

  • Through our TrustivaCARES online portal, Trustiva Health keeps the lines of communication open to observe client status, progress, and satisfaction.

Medicare does not cover custodial, non-medical care when it is the only type of care you need.

We employ a team approach. If the care provider is sick, another is normally available.

At Trustiva Health, it is all about you and your needs. We understand that situations can change quickly and we are ready to respond accordingly.

We provide healthcare staffing services wherever the client resides.

There are several significant drawbacks in hiring independent contractors:

  • How will you properly screen and train this person? This is an unnecessary risk to you.
  • You are responsible for withholding taxes and social security, filing the appropriate reports with state and federal governments. This includes state and federal unemployment compensation. Penalties are severe and could result in large fines if not handled properly. This is an unnecessary risk.
  • If a person you hire becomes injured while working for you, you will become personally responsible for all of their medical bills or potential litigation. The potential to lose assets is an unnecessary risk.
  • You are responsible if your employee does something wrong and injures the person receiving services. Our caregivers are fully bonded and insured at Trustiva Health's expense.
  • How will you handle scheduling? What if the caregiver is a no show, sick, or needs to take time off?
